RadioSport USA | California QSO Party

Northern California Contest Club Presents
2012 California QSO Party
Expect an unusual number of 6-Land stations in the state QSO party of state QSO parties this weekend. On the other hand, I definitely wanted to post about my favorite RadioSport event before departing for my mentor's antenna ranch in the Five Cities.

The California QSO Party rules RadioSport at the local level.

In the meantime, Beach Boys ARC participants will be 'live' this weekend from Shell Beach, Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande, and Nipomo. We are covering both modes from SLUI county and I'm going CW-only in pursuit of a personal best record. Let's party on!

My #hamr Weekend Update | Long Beach Shackadelic

Long Beach Shackadelic
Buddipole Antenna System In Backyard
An amazing weekend and epic conditions! I relaxed on Saturday afternoon in the backyard playing ham radio with my Yaesu FT100 running 100 watts into the Buddipole antenna system. Initially, I had SWR problems because the antenna was positioned on the cement pad then after moving it into the backyard, my numbers fell significantly.

The remainder of the day that soared into low 90s was spent logging DX on 10, 12, 15, and 17m beginning with the Texas QSO Party and ending with fellow blogger John, AE5X on 10m CW before calling it a big hoot and going for dinner at Hof Hut in Long Beach, California.

Logged IK3VUT, IS0HQJ, and OK2LA on 15m CW with HT9H, ON4ND, F6GCP, and 8P6DR on 12m CW followed up with CU1ARM, CU5AM, and 3D2C on 17m CW then JG1OIY and JR1DIU on 10 CW running 100 watts through the Buddipole antenna system.
