PT0S St. Peter And St. Paul Rocks | DRR In The Log
Good evening from shackadelic while Ozzy Osbourne plays through the desktop computer Altec speakers. I'm getting into Holiday mode with CQ WW DX CW scheduled to maximize my weekend experience. I like writing to various genres and the mood in the shack this evening is 'old school' rock-n-roll.
What about that stoked photograph from PT0S as their vertical antenna system is swamped by the wash of a wave?
It's real and it's mean.
On the other hand, after logging Sweepstakes SSB Qs on Sunday afternoon at my mentor's shack, I checked DX Summit and the PT0S team was spotted on 10 meter side band. Click. Switch. Click. Tune up into dummy load. And, I'm hearing the voice of PT0S managing the 10m swarm with his signal fading inside the cans.
As mentioned in PT0S News, the swarm is thick, and I'm thinking about my strategy given their listening instructions. I call 10 KHz up from his transmit frequency deciding to remain on my calling frequency given bandwidth consumption. I attempted 100 watts into SL's 5 element 10m yagi at 50 feet pointed at 90 degrees and my mentor suggested adding extra wattage compliments of his Alpha 89 amplifier.
A few minutes later PT0S is in the log and I'm stoked silly. It wasn't easy like a paint ball shooting gallery or taking out the Covenant on HALO 4 instead it was patience that won the Q against the competing swarm.
Chase DX with respect, and patience!
