Z60K | The Republic Of Kosovo

The speed of electrons are moving faster than analog decision makers because QRZ dot com has recognized Z60K as valid for Amateur Radio contacts as posted at DX World. Additionally, Club Log as stated further into the posting awaits Newington a.k.a. ARRL ruling, in the meantime, status is temporary thus allowing log search functions to work properly.

Dilemma?

The bureaucratic paperwork in addition to organizational bodies have not caught up with the speed of the Internet and wireless communications. Their decision making latency confounds, at least from my perspective, one of the suggested tenants of the Amateur Radio Code of Ethics written in 1928 --

  • Two -- The Amateur is loyal -- "He offers his loyalty, encouragement, and support to his fellow radio amateurs, his local club and to the American Radio Relay League, through which amateur radio is represented."
I'm focusing on encouragement and support because Amateur Radio has an opportunity at the grass root level to reach those who are interested in our hobby.

Certainly, the need to re-examine the Amateur Radio Code of Ethics as written in 1928 is unequivocal and, absolutely, our world and hobby has changed since then.

However, until that convention is held and a new suggested Code of Ethics is hammered out, then why not lend a supporting hand, extend encouragement, and patiently wait for the paperwork and organizational decision making? The common bond is between Amateur Radio operators who desire to extend radio as an art and encourage others who desire the same.

I want to cite another suggested tenant --
  • Four -- Friendly -- "Slow and patient operating when requested; friendly advice and counsel to the beginner; kindly assistance, cooperation, and consideration for the interests of others. These are the hallmarks of the amateur spirit."
My focus is kindly assistance, cooperation, and consideration for the interest of others. Perhaps, it is better to mention goodwill toward one another and unity in purpose as hallmarks of Amateur spirit? The grass root ham radio club in the Republic of Kosovo is a reality moving at the speed of the Internet and wireless radio.

On the other hand, it is a 20th Century dilemma that paperwork and organizational bodies are not moving at the pace of 21st Century solutions.
