My #hamr Weekend Update
Good afternoon from the comfort of my chair with Radio Dawg nestled at my side. She is about ready to take a nap while we watch the playoff games this afternoon. I'd like to see a New England and San Francisco match in the Super Bowl this year. The Steelers are healing after a good run and l'm all for a West coast team winning the championship especially the Niners after their long draught.
I'm writing this post with my Acer Iconia Tab A100 and its seven inch screen sure makes a difference. The reviews are correct that the Tab's battery life is disappointing averaging about four hours. We ordered a few accessories before taking the slates into public spaces. I'd like a protective case for good measure.
I understand why slates are adding up as computing game changers. Essentially, my desk top, personal computer is now resting in my left hand while typing this post.
Also, most if not all the applications I need are bundled on the Tab with its Android Honeycomb operating system and the seven inch screen is far superior to my Android mobile device.
I'm not a software engineer however if the crew at N1MM Contest Logger could write an application to operate in an Android operating system such as Honeycomb then imagine WRTC2014 participants using slates instead of laptops or net books? I'm hedging slates are going to be ubiquitous in two more years.
Well, Radio Dawg is snoozing on her little cushion positioned toward Pitcairn Island and I'm ready for a little snack. Thanks for a great ham radio weekend.
Turn on, tune up, and operate.
