DRR 2011 CaQP

Hamdom fun rages on inside the shackadelic this afternoon with VK2GWK and KH2/N2NL in the computer log totaling three 12m Qs and three DXCC counters toward 5Bplus. My TS850S is juicing the Outbacker Joey vertical at 25 watts.

Photograph 1 taken at sunset and the ten minute counter ramped up on 40m peaking at 200 plus before its dip. Photograph 2 features tower one with its missing 6L KLM 20m monobander on a 52 foot boom. The crank up tower collapsed as a result of an under engineered drive shaft. It snapped. The antenna at the top of the mast is a 6L KLM 15m monobander and it KB'd through CaQP weekend. We are currently in maintenance and repair mode with our goal of having the renovation project completed before monsoon season.

Photograph 3 is tower two with its 3L linear loaded KLM 40m monobander, at the zenith of the mast, is the 5L 10m monobander. Lastly, it's early Sunday morning and I wanted double fisted RadioSport juice to kick in my internal grid current while wearing classic RadioSport headphones.

Contest on!

W3T Gets Tesla

Is this available in the size of a poster? It's a perfect fit for inside the shackadelic zone. Thanks Jeff, K1NSS for your outstanding creativity and hamdom imagination, because Tesla is right on. Read more about the Tesla Special Event station and planned activities at K1NSS internet residence, Ham Radio Cartoons.

Ham radio is shackadelic.

DXpedition2011 | T32C Kiritimati (Christmas Island)

Hamdom dilemma inside the shackadelic. A fall warming trend with temperatures peaking in the low 70s, striking blue skies after two days of rain, and the high bands are going off. What does an operator like myself do when the DX doors are blown off the wireless set? Well, the answer is pretty straightforward that is turn on, tune up, and operate!

Five Cities Dxers and Beach Boys Amateur Radio Club participants are chasing T32C across the radio spectrum. We are striving for our 5BDXCC and who knows how long the DX doors will remain open on ten meters? I logged the team on Christmas Island early this morning and their signal measured a full s7 on the TS850S. Additionally, H77 (Nicaragua) went into the log as well, both signals heard on 10 meters.

My 3B ground mounted, trapped vertical with 35 radials including 5 radials constructed out of tape measures sandwiched between two condos is hamdom fun at 55 watts.

Chase DX.

P.S. Logged T32C on 12m CW with an Outbacker Joey antenna fastened to our terrace railing on the second floor with 25 watts juicing the feedline. Right on!
