RadioSport USA | California QSO Party (CQP)

The 'Big Party' is ready to radiate some serious radio frequency this weekend from the coast with the most that is the West Coast. If it is heavy metal in the sky, do it with wires, or go vertical the numbers are aggro and 6-Land is ready for a lot of hamdom fun. The bumper sticker is turn on, tune up, and operate!

Beach Boys Amateur Radio Club participants are looking forward to friendly competition as another year worth of bragging rights are on the line. Look for operators living in Nipomo, Grover Beach, Arroyo Grande, and Pismo Beach through the weekend.

Remember, CQP is the 'Big Party' for heavy metal in the sky, do it with wires, or go vertical and best results to all low power, low profile 6-Land operators pushing the frontier of operating in HOA/CCR defined communities. Ultimately, have fun while logging every county in California.

Contest on!

DXpedition2011 | 3D2R Rotuma

Stellar Cycle 24 numbers equal ham radio fun for Five Cities Dxers. We are scanning spectrum space searching for 3D2R signal from Rotuma Island. Several of us need this island for our DXCC first one hundred and geographically, Rotuma is favorably positioned for 6-land stations operating low power, low profile from San Diego to San Francisco.

Their shipping container is delayed in New Zealand however the team built Option B that is carry-on equipment according to the website. I wonder what is the price per Q logged especially if DXpeditions are now planning Option B given logistic complexities and delays? For example, if the total cost including QSL confirmation is $100,000 and 10,000 Qs are logged, the expense per Q is ten dollars.

Please keep in mind that donations help and one doesn't have to be a 'big' donor on the block to help create a successful DXpedition.
