Beach Boy's QDH & DRR Go For NAQP CW

I have a few chores in need of tackling this morning before turning on, tuning up, and operating NAQP CW as the recent solar storm passes through the ionosphere. Our Five Cities signal report has a pair of Beach Boys ready for dit and dah action. We want to populate our computer log books with as many states, on as many bands through the day.

A few of us are working on our 5B WAS specifically targeting 10m before Cycle 24 begins ticking downward.

Recently, QDH added his 50 new entities endorsement, bringing his total at 150 confirmed. Congratulations, Fred! Additionally, ETO bagged the rhino signal out of Southern Sudan and is well on his way to the first 100 confirmed. Right on, Emerito.

Cool, my third cup of coffee is nearly drained and it is time for chores. Best results to everyone and hope to see you in DRR's computer log book after this running of NAQP CW through Saturday night.

By the way, check out the latest at Ham Radio Cartoons produced by K1NSS, I see Dash's avatar made it to the roof of the world.

Contest on.

Field Day 2011

Our field day crew with a few others missing from the photograph. It was the year of lesson's learned where inductive fields played antenna system havoc. We logged over 600 Qs as 20m did most of the heavy lifting.

Ham radio is shackadelic.

High Mountain Adventure Continued...

I'm watching SpotCollector this morning after a stellar Saturday afternoon listening to and logging European countries on fifteen meters. We heard the continent via ham radio's polar path as fluttery signals populated once barren bandwidth. Fifteen meters is a dream when the spectrum space opens the door for low power, low profile operators. However, there was no magic in the magic band through yesterday afternoon, while I called CQ at 65 watts into a 2L yagi manufactured by Comet.

QDH brought his quarter wave, ground mounted vertical for 15m and a pair of HamSticks for twenty meters. One operator in Colorado, W0ANT sparked a mini swarm of operators on 20m in the afternoon. Anna handled all incoming signals in a professional manner. Her energy and enthusiasm speaks well for the future!

The Beach Boys Amateur Radio Club (BBARC) is looking for another ham radio adventure within our local area with QDH mentioning Dinosaur Park near the Pacific Ocean. We were stoked for the day especially when 15m opened to Europe and, even, Africa as well. Stay tuned for the next BBARC local ham radio adventure.

Tune on, Tune up, and Operate!

P.S. 100 watts on all bands except 6m.
