My #hamr Weekend Update
Anyone surf radio waves this weekend? Propagation swell wasn't epic
neither were conditions totally flat nonetheless a few GaQP stations
went into my shackadelic log. I listened on 20m late last night for DX
action and it was all in the lower 25 KHz where crispy radio waves
bend.
I have work to accomplish on the vertical this summer. I'm not
impressed with its standing wave ratio on fifteen meters. There is
another outstanding antenna project on my to-do list and the K6MM "No
Excuses" vertical needs attention as well.
Kimberly and I will order tri-tip sandwiches for dinner while Radio
Dawg is taking a snooze at the moment. Anyone ever try our locally
distinctive tri-tip? It is an art form when barbecuing this cut of
beef.
I'm thinking of summer propagation on the VHF bands and it is a
perfect opportunity to gain experience operating portable using the
FT100 with 3 elements on 6 and two meters. I totally enjoy Morse code
beneath a starry night sky as a generator hums in the background.
Surf radio waves.
