Thank you Randy, K5ZD "The Contest Machine" for live streaming your
effort this weekend. The primier RadioSport franchise event remains
exciting both for the seasoned and rookie participant. It is
encouraging to note low power, low profile operators will step into
the kilowatt swarm and give a call despite the mismatch. However
conditions inside the swarm of radio frequency energy bouncing off the
ionosphere always improves later in the event for those waiting their
turn at logging a new one.
I noticed a decline in the number of stations streaming video this year?
This weekend, I continued plowing data into my log database like grid
squares and counties for future use. Likewise, I filled out a number
of QSL cards, for worked all states and confirmations are slowly
filling my log. I ordered a new batch instead of yellow and black, one
will receive an orange and black QSL card, theme colors of the
Northern California Contest Club.
Why are we not chatting about the Lost Island DX Society? It is an
enigma whose blog is neither shrouded in mystery nor symbology, yet, I
did QSL the Long Island DX Society whose acronym spells LIDS like Lost
Island DX Society. Is there a connection because there are many novel
questions to ask? Where is this place? Who belongs to the society?
Lastly, is there a handshake one should know about?
I'm looking forward to next weekend. This time a little more rested
and a little more prepared for the chair. It is getting time for
Sweepstakes and its monster exchange.
