Having Fun On EchoLink

What happens when rain shows up on Sunday morning? I'm watching Planet
Earth while Radio Dawg takes a nap from the comfort of our couch.
Meanwhile, I'm typing my post from the Droid keyboard after a weekend
of listening and transmitting on ten meters.

I'm happy to write about my success with the EchoLink application now
residing on my mobile device. I have met new friends who are keeping
me informed about the new DXCC counters and connecting with 10m
repeaters as well as getting back to the hobby after retirement.

There are those downloading EchoLink however I have not completed the
first Droid-to-Droid connection via a repeater. I believe a
fundamental shift in the way of wireless communication is underway as
a result even though it is not evident. Can one say hand held units
are on the evolutionary path to extinction? Imagine when geo-location
is mashed up with Echolink's application.
