This Weekend In RadioSport | DigiSport Plus

RadioSport USA | Digital Pentathlon.
Exceptional mode growth gets world wide attention and only digital delivers 5-modes of operation. That's exhaustive cool in my logbook. Call CQ "DigiPen".

RadioSport EU | Digifest.
This one is global like DigiPen with an interesting on-line competition (automatic log synchronization with server). I wondered when contest logging would move into the cloud and it looks like Kyiv Contest Club is first? Take a look at awards, prizes, and trophies.
RadioSport Oceania | VK Shires Contest.
Ionosphere time for our friends in Australia and there are big time signals waiting for a Q or two for the contest logbook. I bet this one is going to be a lot of fun this weekend.
RadioSport Asia | SEANET Contest.
Reinvention of this event is underway with simplified rules leading the way.
RadioSport USA | Alabama QSO Party.
Rounding out this weekend event schedule is a QSO party sponsored by the Alabama Contest Group. If one is spinning the dial or moving the mouse give a shout as the party roars into grayline.

The Fi-Ni Report & The K3NG Report

Hunter S. Thompson reincarnated in ham radio's blogosphere? Cousin QRM? Lost Island DX Society (LIDS)? I'd forgotten how to laugh and Cuz QRM banged out some laughter reminding me of Thompson's book, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."

Interesting cat this Cousin QRM at The Fi-Ni Report.

I'm a big fan of The K3NG Report written by Goody who brings talent, insight, and experience into ham radio's blogosphere. He is a thought leader.

I'm catching my breath from this weekend after a lot of ham radio fun while hacking our ionosphere with 45-watts and wire. Burst rates on 40m with limited success on 20m and 15 meters. However search and pounce (SP) vastly improved my overall Q-production during the crucial early hours of the event. My overall rate peaked at 18 per hour.

Additionally, I'm sensing a trend in my logs that is push the first night then pace myself going into the second half of the contest. My on-going results and growing experience suggest a significant decline in Q-production by Sunday afternoon. Therefore I begin calling CQ during the second half of the contest. Basically, I'm harvesting Level 1 and 2 stations within the first 12 hours of a given contest.

Stay tuned as I follow up with a comprehensive post later in the week.
