Me, A Cold Shack, and Morse Code

Did I ever mention that my shack gets cold after sunset? Cold on the central coast of California is any temperature below 50 degrees and I'm like chilled. I grew up in western Pennsylvania, shoveled snow in North and South Dakota with the best of them but I'm not very cold tolerant.

I like heat, lots of heat, desert like heat in fact.

The Yaesu FT100 is not enough of a heat sink to really warm things up but the ARRL International DX CW weekend is near good enough for me. Meanwhile, Radio Dawg is gnawing on a raw hide while the contest roars away in my headset.

Started a little late and had fun on 20-Meters before sunset. The log is looking good and I'm having a blast. Let's see what the ionosphere will bring into the chilly night when things go bump.

On the other hand, no coffee for me until later in the morning after Radio Dawg has exhausted herself on the raw hide. Let's see about some heat into the shack--CQ TEST, CQ TEST and the fun rolls.

Contest on.
